Campeonato Apertura 2015: Week Two Review

In another weekend where the full compliment of matches weren’t completed and only a handful of teams have actually played two matches it is Colo Colo who sit atop the table.

The aforementioned Colo Colo maintained their perfect start under Jose Luis Sierra with a 4-1 win over Audax Italiano courtesy of goals to Gonzalo Fierro, Esteban Paredes, Emiliano Vecchio and Esteban Pavez whilst Matias Campos Lopez grabbed a late consolation for the visitors.

Meanwhile Clausura champions Cobresal finally got their campaign underway with 2-1 win over fellow northerners San Marcos de Arica with all three goals coming in the second half.

San Luis, who were meant to play the aforementioned Cobresal, also finally got their chance to begin their Primera Division campaign after promotion from the Primera B. However a solitary goal to Ronnie Fernandez on the stroke of half time enabled their opponents Santiago Wanderers to grab all three points in what was also their first match of the campaign.

Unión Española’s life post Jose Luis Sierra continued with another loss as they went down 2-1 to Palestino in the clasico de colonias whilst Huachipato picked up their first win of the season with a 2-1 defeat of Iquique.

The remaining fixtures for this weekend were all postponed due to bad weather and will be played later in the season.
